Simon is an American Specialist in Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care. After obtaining his degree from the University of Bristol, Simon moved to Australia to complete a speciality internship. After completing his internship, Simon worked in a busy emergency hospital in the UK and was subsequently offered a 4-year Emergency and Critical Care training and teaching position in the world-renowned Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital at the University of California Davis. Simon is now developing the emergency and intensive care services at ChesterGates Veterinary Specialists.
Simon is currently writing two chapters for core veterinary critical care textbooks and has been involved in a number of publications, including a case study on an unusual toxin and a study on changes in blood glucose in critically ill patients. Simon’s interests focus on fluid therapy, sepsis, electrolyte and glucose derangements and shock. He is committed to enhancing the level of veterinary training in the UK, with the ultimate goal of improving patient care and promoting staff well-being.
