Emma has worked for Regan Veterinary Group since October 2015 as Clinical Director. She graduated in 2004 from Liverpool University Veterinary School, having previously qualified as a pharmacist in 2000 from the University of Manchester.
Throughout her career she has developed a strong interest in surgery and completed the certification in advanced veterinary practice in 2015. Emma passed her RCVS synoptic exam in general small animal surgery in 2017 and is now an RCVS recognised Advanced Practitioner in General Small Animal Surgery. She accepts referrals for all soft tissue and orthopaedic cases from within Regan Veterinary Group and surrounding practices. Emma has also undergone training in laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery enabling her to offer this service to clients.
Prior to joining the Regan Veterinary Group, Emma worked at PetMedics, a 24-hour emergency hospital for eight years. Following this she completed a year working at an orthopaedic referral centre.
Emma enjoys all aspects of orthopaedic surgery including cruciate ligament surgery, patella luxation surgery and fracture repair. She has a specific interest in soft tissue surgery involving tumour removals which involve complex skin reconstructions and skin grafting.
