Shula graduated from Liverpool University in 2011 and joined Springfield Veterinary Group that August. She is a senior veterinary surgeon responsible for day-to-day running of the hospital. Shula is a member of the CAC, and is currently managing the surgical section of the CVS clinical guidelines project.
Since moving to the hospital in 2012 Shula has had a large surgical caseload and has taken regular referrals from local practices for several years. She completed a CertAVP in 2015, and in 2016 passed the synoptic exam becoming an RCVS Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Surgery. Shula has performed hundreds of laparoscopic procedures and has taught several other vets this technique.
Shula is a meticulous surgeon who is naturally inclined towards anything requiring a delicate touch, including the occasional small furry or exotic. She offers all routine joint surgeries, including TTA for management of CCLR, and performs a large number of fracture repairs. Shula has a particular interest in the management of BOAS, thoracic surgery, and feline fracture management.
