Hosted by colleagues working at Lumbry Park Veterinary Specialists.

The aim of this course is to understand the mechanisms involved in chronic and complex pain, and to learn about how we can target pain pathways to improve quality of life.
The morning session will include some interactive sessions on pain pathways, and the different receptors and mechanisms involved in complex and chronic pain. It will also include how to assess pain and a discussion regarding the pain scores which are validated.
The afternoon will focus on pharmacological and lifestyle interventions to improve pain management. This will include a section on new and emerging drugs, and on current adjunctive therapies.
