CPD Event

Hosted by Julie Hamilton Elliott BVSc CertAVP(SAM) PGCertVPS DipECVIM-CA MRCVS RCVS and EBVS® European Specialist in Veterinary Cardiology

Summary: The elderly small breed dog with a cough and a heart murmur is a common clinical conundrum in small animal practice. Historically, cough is reported as a major clinical sign of cardiogenic pulmonary oedema in dogs. However, current evidence contradicts this widely held assumption connecting cough to congestive heart failure.

The aim of this evening is to review the cough mechanism, review the current evidence for cardiogenic coughing and present a pragmatic, case-based approach to the coughing cardiac patient.

Date of CPD: Wednesday 25th September 2024 at 7:00pm at NIVS (Drinks and Refreshments will be provided)
