Shirley completed her residency in clinical oncology at Veterinary Referrals Cancer and Critical care (VRCC).
Thereafter Shirley was awarded a Master of Science degree in clinical oncology by the Institute of Cancer Research at Birmingham University, having presented a thesis on radiation therapy for soft tissue sarcomas.
