ChesterGates Veterinary Specialists expands its orthopaedic team

Ortho-team-at-ChesterGates-1ChesterGates Veterinary Specialists has appointed Marko Stejskal DACVS-SA DECVS MRCVS, RCVS Specialist in Small Animal Surgery (Orthopaedics), to its growing team of Specialists.

Marko Stejskal joined the multidisciplinary referral centre in February to work alongside some of the most-experienced orthopaedic and joint replacement surgeons in the country, Mark Morton and Dave Thomson.

Marko’s international career has taken him from Zagreb, Croatia where he qualified in 2000, to University of Georgia, USA where he completed his residency, and then to Colorado State University. He came to the UK in 2019 to work with an emergency and out of hours practice in Glasgow, and then a large referral practice in the south, before joining ChesterGates in February 2022.

The close-knit multidisciplinary team at ChesterGates will benefit from Marko’s wealth of experience in treating both acute and chronic and orthopaedic conditions.

Clinical Director and Orthopaedic Specialist, Mark Morton says: ‘We are delighted to welcome Marko to ChesterGates. He is a very experienced surgeon who has already fitted in well to the team.

“Marko is also an American and EBVS® European Specialist in Small Animal Surgery, and will play a key role in mentoring and training clinicians who wish to further develop their careers either through Internships or residencies.’

Marko Stajskal is a co-author of 36 articles published in domestic and international publications, as well as three university textbooks.
